Suburban Life

That's right, as weird as it feels to write these words, I've been pulled back into the suburban lifestyle.

Things never really change in Lachine.

Long commutes. Unbearably long bus rides in good company next to retards and annoying teens listening to drake, and incredibly stupid conversations, the 191 never being on time.
Mowing the lawn.  I mixed up gas and oil last time and for half a day my neighbours saw the moose and I on the lawn, syphoning the horrid mixture with fkin straws from the lawn mower.
Spiders. Trust me, if you haven't lived in Lachine, you have no idea how big spiders can get.
Life on the streets stop after 7pm.  Actually you never see anyone on the streets outside of school dropping/picking up hours.

On the bright side, living in Lachine also has its perks.

No rent. Living at home, but without the parents. This means I could actually SAVE UP and buy myself an apartment in the city someday, or with a little perseverance, a shoebox studio in Paris!!
Almost unlimited space for my dog and not too many car accident risk. Cuz you know, pomeranians are exactly like children.

Just thought I would put a screencap of Revolutionary Road, although our life is in no way as dramatic as Kate & Leo's.  Have you had the chance to watch it? Isn't it a brilliant film? (and brilliantly depressing if such a thing exists)

This couple has more class and elegance in one of their depressed fingernail than the whole Lachine population.

GIRLS

I forgot to mention that Girls Season 2 is coming out in two days! The only "white" series I've watched so far are all from HBO (Flight of the Conchords, Game of Thrones, Girls) and I love them to bits.
I don't know if Lena Dunham is the voice of our generation, but as a twenty something year old woman I can definitely relate to the characters trying to make sense of themselves... and mostly about accepting the fact that most of the time it doesn't make sense. I'm far from what I've pictured for myself ten years ago, but it's okay that we don't have it all figured out. We have to be good to ourselves along the way.

For your information, Girls episodes may not contain as much nudity and epic violence as Game of Thrones, but they make up in randomness and awkward sex scenes, love it!!

GAME OF THRONES MADNESS

OKAY I AM SO MAD RIGHT NOW THAT I NEED TO TYPE EVERYTHING IN CAPITAL LETTERS. YES I JUST FINISHED EPISODE 9 OF SEASON 1 T_____________T

Dammit HBO series are so captivating, I've also finished watching GIRLS season 1, yall should give it a try if you like raw and honest narratives with imperfect and awkward characters struggling in NEW YORK.   It's a far cry from the glamorous Sex and the City or the frivolous Gossip Girls series ( um actually  I haven't watched either so I might be blindly judging) and I really love it.

Back to Game of Thrones!!! I'm quite happy that I've waited  a year before watching it because now Season 2 is available!! Without wanting to  reveal any spoilers for those of you who haven't had the privilege  to watch it.....UGHHHHH episode 9 had me all shaken up and throwing my fists in anger toward the sky  :'(

I've seen these 3 movies/teleseries at different periods of my life, but my mind was blown when I finally realized that it's one and same actor, Sean Bean.

Boromir being awesome. One does not simply... ahaha

Ned Stark.  WINTER IS COMING

Oh Vronsky. I loved the book and this cast from 1997 so much that out of respect for them, I shall boycott the upcoming adaptation.  Nevermind that I enjoyed Atonement (and slightly Pride& Prejudice, just for the beautiful sceneries and mr. daaaarcy)  Joe Wright must be a FKIN RETARD to let Keira play Anna Karenina, he has obviously never read the book.  'oh a historical piece, let's use Keira!'

I hope his new movie turns into a monumental flop and that no one will ever finance his movies featuring Keira eveeeeeerrrrrrr again.    Yo can you imagine directing a jaw???!!!  This thing's got a life of its own I tell you. #hater

Leolo is a STRANGE and strikingly beautiful movie, I've wanted to watch it for a long time and I finally did last Christmas with the moose.  We were both mesmerized by its bizarre and raw poetry, I don't think any other movie has left me in such a state of nostalgia and ...longing for something unknown but real...   How can I put this, the entire story is so strange yet so real, as if the director dived into your brain and filmed from the depth of your subconscious.

By the way, was last week the week of cannibals, zombies and american psycho or what?!!

We're back in 1998 when Leo was still hot

When Titanic first came out in theatres, I was ten years old.  I don't know about kids nowadays but I was ten old years I was completely clueless about intimacy between two human beings, and it was probably the furthest thing from my mind back then.

Watching this movie in the theatres with my parents was a mindblowing and traumatizing experience.  I'm sure you know what I'm talking about!  Yes during this particular DRAWING scene, I turned my head frantically to see the people around me whether someone would cover my eyes or "turn off the screen", it was simply beyond awkward and embarassing to see Kate Winslet's boobies with my parents on my side.  I mean it's still embarassing to watch a bed scene with your parents around, so imagine when you were 10... />
Kate Winslet is so perfect in this scene, I think any bum artist would have died happily after being able to draw a girl like that.

Right now I'm so excited to watch Titanic again, after 14 years!!! No matter how cheesy it is, it will certainly remain one of the most memorable movies of my prepubescent days. I'm ready to watch it again, without covering my eyes at the drawing scene nor panicking at the STEAMY HAND IN CAR SCENE (I thought Jack was murdering Rose and got so scared)

What are your thoughts on this movie? Do you remember when you first watched it? And did any of you understand the car scene or was I the only retarded one?

Lo-li-ta

I've been cleaning up my external hard drive (yes yes even the external drive is running out of space for my mess) and I found this "film captures" folder ; vestiges d'une époque où je prenais plaisir à prendre des captures d'écran de films que j'aimais... et très sérieusement par-dessus ça, avec autant de sérieux qu'un photographe qui attend le moment parfait!

Disclaimers : 1- I'm not a pedobear nor do I encourage pedobears    2- These stills belong to the 1997 Lolita movie directed by Adrian Lyne.

Just thinking about the book's ending makes me tear up a little...

Leap Year

Believe it or not, once in a blue moon I watch romantic comedies by myself (well I'm ALWAYS by myself lolz), and last year I somehow found this movie.

Blue Valentine : beggining & end

Man this movie has drained the life out of me.
I'm not going to say that it has KILLED THE IDEA OF LOVE for me, but it was brutally honest and heartbreaking... and I would choose this bitterweet movie over any sugar-coated romantic comedy.

Ugh. The scene at the cheap sex motel's futuristic spaceship room was so painful to watch.

Has anyone else watched this movie?

25 mai. J'ai hâte!

Moonrise Kingdom

Another wonderful movie from Wes Anderson Come on, scoutboys, camping, first love, Bill f*cking Murray, badass treehouse at 1:13, Bruce Willis as a sheriff (forever a cop lol). It doesn't get better than that.

My favorite movie from Wes Anderson remains The Life Aquatic, not only it features the coolest, most eclectic soundtrack, but the story is centered around one of my childhood best memories (flipping through illustrated books on Jacques Yves Cousteau and marine life).

How far will you go

3 more days until Like Crazy hits the theaters in Montreal.

To Die By Your Side

Has anyone seen DRIVE??  This song is SICK, makes you want to drive through the city the entire night (if only I had a better sound system and only if I actually lived in the city haha)

Here are my favorite comments from the users :

"Is that Megatron singing or Soundwave?? I can't tell..."

"Duh! that's why I saw it grrl. I jerked off to Ryan the whole movie."

I have a shameful crush on Louis Garrel since I watched The Dreamers, and the reason I'm ashamed of it is because I just realized he looks so much like a darker/manlier version of mister Edward Cullen. Well let's just say he looks like a vampire. And it's disturbing.

ewwww ... first and last time I'm posting Twilight material on my blog.

100 Greatest Movie Characters of All Time

 http://www.filmsite.org/100characters.html  by Premiere Magazine

Highlighted the ones I've watched.

1. Vito Corleone of The Godfather

2. Fred C. Dobbs of The Treasure of the Sierra Madre

3. Scarlett O'Hara of Gone With the Wind

4. Norman Bates of Psycho

5. James Bond of Dr. No

6. Annie Hall of Annie Hall

7. Indiana Jones of Raiders of the Lost Ark

8. Ellen Ripley of Alien

9. Jeff Spicoli of Fast Times at Ridgemont High

10. Gollum of Lord of the Rings

11. Margo Channing of All About Eve

12. Charles Foster Kane of Citizen Kane

13. Atticus Finch of To Kill a Mockingbird

14. Randle McMurphy of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest

15. Hannibal Lecter of The Silence of the Lambs

16. Robin Hood of The Adventures of Robin Hood

17. Dorothy Gale of The Wizard of Oz

18. Carl Spackler of Caddyshack

19. Rick Blaine of Casablanca

20. Virgil Tibbs of In the Heat of the Night

New crush

The "ball scratching whipping" scene made me really uncomfortable.  I don't know how his balls survived.

Eva obviously didn't seem to mind.

Or maybe??

Anyhow, I now want to learn how to play poker like a PRO.
Daniel Craig is definitely the manliest James Bond after Sean Connery, and looks a bit like Poutine in a more rectangular way, but my attention during the entire movie was rather focused on...

EVA.  Yes gratuitous boobies picture because it was one of the first that came up on google search.  I forgot the reference sites again, if my blog were an essay I'd probably fail because of all the lacking references/credits. sorry.

This girl looks so elegant, witty and mean at the same time.  How can you not like her?

She just always looks mean  !!??   Femme fatale au naturel. Can't help it.

Bonne nuit les enfants.

Provence

warning : very cheesy content ahead...

Have you watched the movie A Good Year with Russell Crowe and Marion Cotillard? Very lovely film about a typical a**hole in finance who inherits a castle and wineyard in Provence, mais vous savez déjà ce qu'un endroit paradisiaque (et une belle fille) peut avoir comme influence sur votre caractère...

drooling at the food.

This is a remake of an adaptation of a very popular romance novel back in the 1970s in China. I can't believe I finished the entire show a few summers ago. It's a delicate mix of very bad acting, fake & robotic dialogues that give you goosebumps, beautiful scenery, and a love story between a very selfish girl with an IQ of about a tomato and an older rich-sophisticated-retardedly nice man. Of course the best part of this cool series was the scenes shot in Provence. Just try to watch the intro without puking :)

En la ciudad de Sylvia

One of the most beautiful movie trailers I've watched.  I probably won't watch the movie because it will ruin the trailer for me (it makes no sense  I know, but the trailer is enough by itself).

500 dresses

Actually this entire post is just an excuse for me to post my favorite clip of this movie...

PEEEEE-NhhhhUUUUUUS
