Grandma's thermos

Today is Huilong's Day

Yes I just declared today as the Official Huilong's Day.

Although I did not contact you this weekend (peur de te faire déconcentrer comme une tapette), I sent you all the positive spartan energy in me and some very much needed extra IQ points on your way for your LSAT exam.   I'm sure you did great, and to celebrate I shall give you The Headbutt of Victory.  and post some embarrassing pictures of you, embarrassing cuz we basically looked the same...  Yes your long hair days tragically coincided with my short little boy hair period...

You are
The best 191 bus partner in crime one can imagine.  I've probably spent more time in my life on this damn bus than sleeping by now.

You are also the most neutral person I know, I mean it as a compliment, being the super racist/mean/judgmental person that I am, you have always been there to show me the other side of things and reminding me to take a step back before I get beat up on the street for saying something stupid and most likely racist.  Sometimes you just want me to shut up but you say it in such a funny way that I keep talking just to hear your fast paced "shutthefuckupnoob" with this face -_-  on repeat.

-_-       = literally a homage to your face man.

 You are also
The Karaoke King.  You might not realize this but you've got a better voice at karaoke than any one of us.  Granted we set the standards pretty low, but you just blow us away with your EYE OF THE TIGER.

Anyway, I know you are like my blog's biggest fan, and I know I haven't been the nicest friend to you, but give me a shout when you wake up from your 72 hour long post exam recovery sleep and we shall go celebrate!!!

I thought I had a genius idea

This is my desktop background:

If you haven't watched Roman Holiday yet, I urge you to, not one single modern days romantic comedy has been able to rival this movie's freshness and charm. And Gregory Peck was in way before George Clooney, just saying.

"OMG I'M GOING TO START A VESPA TOUR BUSINESS IN PARIS, asian tourists love this kind of cheesy movie moments idea! I shall buy a dozen of vespas and hire Gregory Peck alike men to be their private tour guides and make a fortune."    Thanks to Google, I was able to find out that many geniuses before me had the same idea and there are already several well-established vespa tours around Paris.  But you know what they say, finding out that your idea has been used already is a good sign, that means there's a market for it ---> less risk!

I find this video incredibly sexy : fougueux (impetuous?? can you say that), young, totally illegal, and happens before sunset...  No it's not filmed from a scooter/moto, sounds more like a ferrari haha.

And the infamous scene from Roman Holiday!! I don't care that they are going at 35km/h at the most, it's still exciting ok??

Anyhow, I'm keeping the idea in mind... As for the staff I sure hope I will be able to find some intern hunks (always hire interns haha hardworking and cheap!)  or I might have to kidnap some boy toys from the Abercrombie n Fitch store, although they might be more suitable for a gay clientele.

My original idea was to do a mobylette tour, but I doubt it would be suitable for two people. Unless you have thick ass buttocks able to survive the pebble road bumps!

If you've missed my awesome post about mobylettes bleues, read it again here:  http://yilizabeth.blogspot.ca/2011/06/epitome-of-teenage-cool-la-bleue.html

A New Challenge

Bring it on.

BOOKS + CHURCH = ORGASM

Guys, I have so many pictures of amazing architecture on my computer that it would be a sin not to share them with you.  In fact, I think I even have enough material for a special AMAZING LIBRARIES edition on my blog!

Remember this post where I showed you a picture of the Malmö Library in Sweden (Thanks Andrew for identifying the library) ?  Now check this one out:

Innovative design at its best : Dutch bookstore chain converts 13th century cathedral in Maastricht, Holland into a contemporary bookstore!  A 3-story bookstore, you've heard right!

There's even a cafe and pretty seats at the choir section.  Now, if that doesn't make you want to read, I don't know what will.

Urban Farmer

DIY gift idea for your man

(Or your dad/yourself/your 4ever alone single guy friend)

What I concluded after reading the few comments following my flowers post is that my female blog followers = femmes pratiques lol   So here is a super practical & genius DIY gift idea that will certainly be appreciated by your man.  If I were less manually-retarded I would certainly give it a try!!  And probably keep it to myself.

Lo and behold!!!!

The vintage book tech accessory organizer!!

Step 1 is probably the hardest one: Finding a beautiful cloth-bound hardcover book and destroying it :(

 Follow this tutorial!  http://www.designsponge.com/2011/08/diy-project-vintage-book-travel-tech-organizer.html

SO GENIUS RIGHT?!!    no more tangled earphones, usb cables, you can even use it to give your jean pockets a break from your cellphone!!

Cabin love, cabin porn

My love for this glass bedroom cabin from Finland is only exceeded by my jealousy of its owner.  Whoever owns this piece of heaven must be the world's luckiest girl.  Notice the vinyl record player...mmm  afternoon naps, cuddling, the smell of pine & river, our music....

This is what my dreams are made of.

A Man needs to feel the rhythms of the earth; he needs to have in hand something real — The tiller of a boat, a set of reins, the roughness of rope, or simply a shovel. Can a man live all his days to keep his fingernails clean and trim ? Is that what a boy dreams of?
